Kanad Hospital – Abu Dhbai is seeking a qualified Physiotherapist to deliver evidence-based physiotherapy services to patients across all age groups, with a strong focus on pediatric neurological, musculoskeletal, and NICU care.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in restoring function, managing pain, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well-being through advanced rehabilitation techniques. This position requires expertise in clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
1. Clinical Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy treatments aligned with international clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and functional evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat injuries, disabilities, neurological conditions, and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including clinical goals, rehabilitation strategies, and progress tracking.
- Apply a wide range of treatment modalities, including:
- Manual therapy (mobilization, manipulation, massage)
- Electrotherapy techniques
- Dry needling and medical acupuncture
- Design and implement therapeutic exercise programs to restore strength, mobility, and functional independence.
- Manage pediatric and NICU cases, ensuring specialized care for infants and children with developmental or neurological conditions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and clinical findings.
- Refer patients to physicians or specialists when additional evaluation or intervention is required.
- Determine and manage physiotherapy session schedules based on patient needs and recovery goals.
2. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality, data privacy, and healthcare regulations.
- Obtain and document informed consent, ensuring patient rights and responsibilities are upheld.
3. Patient Education & Community Engagement
- Educate patients and families on rehabilitation techniques, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
- Provide training on safe manual handling and lifting techniques.
- Conduct health awareness sessions, workshops, and seminars to promote physiotherapy services and healthy lifestyles.
- Contribute to internal physiotherapy training and professional development programs.
4. Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and therapists.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain treatment approvals and manage authorization processes.
- Ensure smooth communication regarding patient care plans and rehabilitation progress.
5. Compliance & Professional Standards
- Maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Hold a valid Department of Health (DOH) license or eligibility (DHA/MOH license holders may be considered).
- Complete all mandatory hospital training and continuous professional development requirements.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution
- Valid DOH License / DOH Eligibility (DHA or MOH license holders will be considered)
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques
- Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
- Female candidates only (as per role requirement)
- Willingness to work full-time, including Sundays
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in:
- Pediatric neurological rehabilitation
- Musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) physiotherapy
- Experience in treating basic musculoskeletal conditions is essential
