Occupational Therapist to join a healthcare team in Ajman, UAE on a part-time, on-site basis. The Occupational Therapist will assess clients’ functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed to improve independence, daily living skills, motor abilities, cognitive function, and sensory processing.
The role may involve working with both pediatric and adult patients across clinical and healthcare facility settings. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and facility standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and clinical evaluations.
- Assess patients’ functional, motor, cognitive, sensory, and developmental abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical goals.
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
- Provide therapy to pediatric and adult patients as required.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
- Educate patients, parents, caregivers, and families on therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies.
- Promote patient independence, safety, and participation in daily activities.
- Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Follow professional, ethical, infection-control, and patient-safety standards.
- Ensure clinical services are delivered in accordance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Contribute to maintaining a high-quality patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recognized Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid DHA license or eligibility for professional licensing in Dubai.
- Relevant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation.
- Experience working in clinical, rehabilitation, hospital, pediatric, or healthcare facility settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy assessment and treatment methodologies.
- Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy and developmental conditions is an advantage.
- Good understanding of basic medical concepts and multidisciplinary healthcare practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong clinical documentation and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, continuous professional development, and culturally sensitive care.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of clinical care.
Preferred Expertise
Candidates with knowledge or experience related to UAE healthcare licensing and regulatory requirements will be an advantage. Familiarity with healthcare facility requirements under authorities such as DHA, MOHAP, DOH (formerly HAAD), and DHCC is desirable.
