Healthcare Managemnt – Dr, Doctors, in Al Barsha, Dubai is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join its laboratory team. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of UAE-based laboratory experience, experience working in a CAP-accredited laboratory, and a valid DHA MLT license.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing in accordance with CAP standards, established procedures, and internal quality protocols.
- Ensure laboratory test results are accurate, reliable, and reported within the required turnaround time.
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Follow established procedures for specimen collection, identification, labeling, processing, handling, and storage.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test documentation, and quality-control records.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality-control activities.
- Follow infection prevention, laboratory safety, and occupational health procedures.
- Support internal and external laboratory audits and inspections related to CAP accreditation.
- Identify and report testing issues, equipment problems, or quality deviations to the appropriate supervisor.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support effective patient care.
- Maintain knowledge of current laboratory technologies, testing methods, and professional practices.
- Follow laboratory policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable UAE healthcare requirements.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in the UAE.
- Previous experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is mandatory.
- Valid DHA MLT license or eligibility as required by the facility.
- Good understanding of CAP accreditation requirements, laboratory quality systems, and quality-control procedures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to laboratory accuracy and patient safety.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in one or more laboratory disciplines, including:
- Hematology
- Clinical Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Histopathology
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Experience participating in laboratory audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
- Knowledge of laboratory documentation and quality-management procedures.

Follow CAP-related laboratory procedures and contribute to maintaining compliance with applicable accreditation requirements.Participate in internal audits, external inspections, accreditation assessments, and corrective-action activities.Assist with the investigation and documentation of non-conformities, quality incidents, and testing discrepancies.
Follow corrective and preventive action procedures when quality issues are identified.Maintain proper infection-control practices throughout specimen handling, laboratory testing, cleaning, and waste disposal activities.Follow laboratory health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Handle biological specimens and laboratory materials in accordance with applicable safety requirements.Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical and laboratory waste.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory working environment.Protect patient confidentiality and ensure that laboratory information is handled securely and professionally.Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for specimen registration, result entry, verification, reporting, and other laboratory functions as required.Maintain accurate electronic and written documentation of laboratory activities.Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, laboratory colleagues, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory tests and results.
Escalate critical or urgent laboratory findings according to established reporting procedures.Support the laboratory team in maintaining efficient workflow during routine and high-volume testing periods.Follow laboratory policies, departmental procedures, and applicable healthcare requirements in the UAE.
Stay informed about changes in laboratory procedures, technologies, testing methodologies, quality requirements, and professional practices.Participate in training, competency assessments, continuing professional development, and other laboratory learning activities.Assist in the implementation of new laboratory procedures, equipment, or testing methodologies when required.Work collaboratively with other members of the laboratory and wider healthcare team to support quality patient care.
