A leading school in Dubai is currently hiring a Lab Assistant to support its Science Department and ensure the efficient operation of school laboratories. This is an excellent opportunity for science graduates who are passionate about laboratory management, scientific experiments, and creating a safe learning environment for students.
The successful candidate will assist teachers during practical science sessions, maintain laboratory equipment, prepare materials for experiments, and ensure that all laboratory activities comply with established health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist science teachers in preparing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons.
- Set up, organize, and dismantle laboratory experiments before and after classes.
- Ensure laboratories remain clean, organized, and fully operational at all times.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine inspections to ensure functionality.
- Monitor laboratory inventory, including chemicals, glassware, instruments, and consumables.
- Keep accurate records of laboratory stock and assist with ordering new supplies when required.
- Follow laboratory health, safety, and waste disposal procedures in accordance with school policies.
- Support students during practical experiments by providing guidance on the proper use of laboratory equipment.
- Report damaged equipment, shortages, or safety concerns to the Science Department.
- Ensure all laboratory resources are stored safely and securely.
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to laboratory activities and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with science teachers and administrative staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related discipline.
- Previous experience as a Lab Assistant in a school environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Familiarity with school science experiments and laboratory preparation.
- Good organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and school staff.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
- Candidates must be available to join by August 2026.
