Clinical laboratory in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join its laboratory team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting routine clinical laboratory operations, performing laboratory testing, maintaining accurate records, and following established quality, safety, and laboratory procedures.
This opportunity is suitable for qualified laboratory professionals with hands-on experience in clinical diagnostics and a strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures. Candidates who are DHA licensed or DHA eligible will have an advantage.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine clinical laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures according to established laboratory protocols.
- Receive, identify, label, process, and prepare patient specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment safely and correctly.
- Perform testing in accordance with approved standard operating procedures and laboratory guidelines.
- Monitor test results and identify abnormal, inconsistent, or questionable findings for further review.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, worksheets, and documentation.
- Follow established procedures for specimen collection, handling, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Ensure laboratory samples are processed within the required turnaround time.
- Conduct appropriate quality control checks and report any deviations or equipment-related issues.
- Maintain proper laboratory hygiene, biosafety, and infection-control practices.
- Follow applicable clinical laboratory safety procedures when handling biological specimens, reagents, and laboratory chemicals.
- Assist with calibration, maintenance, and routine checks of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies are properly stored and monitored.
- Participate in internal quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory results.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory colleagues and other healthcare professionals to support efficient diagnostic services.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical or medical laboratory environment.
- Good knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, and specimen processing.
- Practical experience handling laboratory equipment and diagnostic instruments.
- Strong understanding of laboratory quality control, biosafety, and infection-control requirements.
- Ability to accurately document laboratory results and maintain complete records.
- DHA license or DHA eligibility is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when performing laboratory testing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to follow laboratory SOPs, quality requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.
