Pharmaceutical Microbiologist to join a Pharmaceutical Quality Control (QC) Microbiology Laboratory in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological testing, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring compliance with international pharmaceutical quality standards such as GMP and GLP.

This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in microbiological analysis of pharmaceutical products and a strong understanding of laboratory quality systems and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing of various pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, injectables, oral liquids (syrups), and transdermal patches.
- Execute critical microbiological tests such as:
- Microbial Limit Testing (MLT)
- Sterility Testing
- Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET / LAL)
- Environmental Monitoring (EM)
- Conduct routine water sampling and microbiological analysis of purified water systems and water for injection (WFI).
- Monitor cleanroom environments and support aseptic operations by conducting environmental monitoring and contamination control checks.
- Participate in method validation and method transfer activities in compliance with pharmacopeial standards.
- Ensure calibration, qualification, and maintenance of microbiology laboratory equipment.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate laboratory documentation in line with GMP, GLP, and data integrity requirements.
- Investigate Out of Specification (OOS) results, deviations, and implement corrective actions through CAPA systems.
- Maintain culture stocks, prepare microbiological media, and ensure proper lab hygiene and safety practices.
- Assist during internal audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology or Life Sciences.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical QC microbiology laboratory.
- Strong expertise in:
- Sterility Testing and Aseptic Techniques
- Environmental Monitoring Programs
- Water System Monitoring
- BET (Bacterial Endotoxin Testing)
- In-depth knowledge of GMP, GLP, and pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines.
- Experience handling OOS, deviations, change controls, and CAPA processes.
- Familiarity with international standards such as USP, EP, BP is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

- Prior exposure to sterile manufacturing environments is a plus.
