Job Description
The laboratory operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Candidates must be willing to work rotational shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests across various laboratory disciplines.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of laboratory results to support clinical decision-making.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
- Follow DHA regulations, laboratory procedures, and infection prevention and control protocols.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold ethical standards when handling patient information and laboratory data.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support effective patient care.
- Participate in quality control activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support laboratory accreditation requirements and compliance with applicable healthcare standards.
- Follow established laboratory safety procedures when handling specimens, reagents, and equipment.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related discipline.
- Current DHA License as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, quality control, and safety practices.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 laboratory operation with rotational shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
