We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join a reputable healthcare facility in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and rational use of medications in a clinical or hospital setting. The role involves dispensing prescriptions, reviewing medication therapy, providing patient counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment outcomes in line with UAE healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities – Pharmacist
- Dispense medications accurately according to prescription orders
- Review prescriptions for dosage accuracy, drug interactions, and contraindications
- Provide clinical pharmacy support during patient care and physician rounds
- Monitor and evaluate patient medication therapy for safety and effectiveness
- Counsel patients on medication use, dosage instructions, and side effects
- Identify, report, and prevent adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and medication errors
- Manage pharmacy inventory, stock control, and expiry tracking
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and UAE health authority standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of prescriptions and controlled medications
- Support audits, inspections, and quality compliance procedures
Certifications & Skills
- Eligible for UAE Pharmacist License (MOH preferred for Sharjah)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an advantage
- Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and healthcare compliance standards
- Strong attention to detail and clinical accuracy
- Excellent patient counseling and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience (home country experience accepted)
- Valid pharmacy registration from home country
- Eligibility or readiness for UAE licensing (MOH / DHA / DOH preferred)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, clinical pharmacy practices, and drug safety
- Good Standing Certificate (if required for licensing)
