A leading hospital in Dubai is looking for a qualified and experienced Outpatient Pharmacist to join its pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, ensuring medication safety, dispensing medications accurately, and providing professional counseling to patients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and clarify physicians’ medication orders and prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Verify medication dosage, frequency, duration, route of administration, and clinical indication before dispensing.
- Identify and assess potential drug-to-drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and medication-related concerns.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding prescription ambiguities, medication concerns, or required clarifications.
- Supervise the preparation of verified medications and conduct appropriate double-checking before dispensing.
- Ensure that medications are correctly labeled, packaged, and dispensed according to hospital policies and medication safety procedures.
- Calculate the appropriate quantity and dosage of medicines based on factors such as patient age, body weight, and prescribed treatment regimen.
- Enter external prescriptions and medication orders accurately into the hospital Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and Hospital Information System (HIS) before dispensing.
- Ensure the timely calling of patients to the pharmacy dispensing counter and contribute to minimizing patient waiting time.
- Provide clear and professional counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication use, dosage, administration, storage, precautions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.

- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, dispensing documentation, and medication-related reports.
- Monitor pharmacy inventory and ensure appropriate stock control, storage, and security of medicines.
- Maintain proper records and secure storage of narcotic, controlled, and other restricted medications in accordance with hospital policies and applicable UAE regulations.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, quality management, and pharmacy procedures at all times.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining efficient outpatient pharmacy operations and delivering high-quality patient care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or equivalent.
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter is mandatory.
- 2–3 years of relevant hospital or clinical pharmacy experience in the GCC.
- Experience in outpatient pharmacy operations, prescription screening, medication dispensing, and patient counseling is preferred.
- Good knowledge of medication safety, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and prescription verification.
- Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and CPOE systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy hospital environment.
