Medical Laboratory Technologist who are allied health practicioners in clinical labs to join a healthcare team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting a wide range of laboratory tests, operating advanced diagnostic equipment, analyzing patient samples, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. This role plays a critical part in supporting physicians and healthcare professionals with accurate diagnostic information that contributes to effective patient care and treatment decisions.
The successful candidate should possess strong technical expertise in laboratory procedures, quality assurance practices, and clinical diagnostics while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Perform routine, specialized, and complex laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other biological specimens.
- Analyze samples using advanced laboratory instruments and diagnostic technologies.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and reporting of laboratory findings to support clinical diagnosis and treatment.
- Conduct hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, serology, molecular diagnostics, and pathology-related testing as required.
Diagnostic Equipment Operation
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure all instruments meet operational and quality standards.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and service schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Validate new laboratory equipment and testing methodologies before implementation.
Sample Collection & Processing
- Collect patient specimens using approved phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques.
- Ensure proper labeling, transportation, storage, and handling of biological samples.
- Verify specimen integrity and reject unsuitable samples according to laboratory protocols.
- Follow infection control procedures and patient safety guidelines during sample collection.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Adhere to laboratory quality management systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and accreditation requirements.
- Perform internal quality control and participate in external quality assurance programs.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, laboratory safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Assist in laboratory audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately document laboratory procedures, test results, quality control records, and maintenance logs.
- Generate detailed laboratory reports and communicate critical findings promptly to physicians and healthcare teams.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and hospital information systems effectively.
Health, Safety & Infection Control
- Follow laboratory biosafety procedures and infection prevention protocols.
- Handle hazardous chemicals, biological materials, and laboratory waste safely.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and laboratory safety training programs.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Valid professional certification and licensing as required by UAE healthcare authorities.
- Minimum 2–8 years of experience in a hospital, diagnostic laboratory, clinical laboratory, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, diagnostic methodologies, and quality control practices.
- Experience operating automated laboratory analyzers and specialized diagnostic instruments.
- Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and laboratory software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
