Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) – Molecular Genetics & NIPT – Abu Dhabi

Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) specializing in Molecular Genetics is wanted in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to join a leading clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate must possess a valid DOH License in Molecular Genetics, hands-on experience in NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing), and strong expertise in molecular diagnostic laboratory procedures. Immediate joiners are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced molecular diagnostic testing with a primary focus on Molecular Genetics and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).
• Conduct laboratory procedures including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR analysis, sequencing workflows, and genomic testing in accordance with approved protocols.
• Prepare, process, label, and analyze patient samples while ensuring accuracy, precision, and confidentiality.
• Interpret and document test results accurately and prepare laboratory reports within defined turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, laboratory quality management systems, and international clinical laboratory standards.

• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and molecular diagnostic equipment.
• Follow strict biosafety, infection control, and laboratory safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs, proficiency testing, and laboratory audits.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, records, logs, and technical reports.
• Support laboratory accreditation processes including ISO standards, CAP requirements, and quality compliance audits.
• Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory scientists, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
• Stay updated with advancements in molecular genetics, genomics technologies, and diagnostic methodologies.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related healthcare/science field.
• Valid DOH License in Molecular Genetics is mandatory.
• Proven experience in Molecular Genetics testing and NIPT analysis within a clinical or diagnostic laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of molecular biology techniques, genomics workflows, PCR methodologies, and genetic testing procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory quality standards, documentation practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple laboratory tasks within deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Immediate availability is required.

Preferred Qualifications – MLT

• Previous experience working in a UAE clinical laboratory or healthcare facility.
• Familiarity with international laboratory accreditation standards such as ISO 15189 and CAP (College of American Pathologists).
• Experience handling advanced molecular diagnostic platforms and automated laboratory systems.
• Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and digital reporting processes.
