A Food retail group is seeking a qualified Food Safety Officer – QHSE for its popular hypermarket chain in Ajman, UAE.
This is an excellent opportunity for food safety professionals with experience in retail, supermarkets, or catering environments who are passionate about maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety compliance, and quality assurance.The QHSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining food safety management systems, ensuring compliance with UAE regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of safety and hygiene across all store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety Management
- Enforce compliance with UAE food safety laws, municipality regulations, and internal QHSE policies
- Implement and monitor HACCP procedures and food safety protocols
- Conduct routine food safety audits, hygiene inspections, and risk evaluations
Quality Control & Assurance
- Ensure all food products meet required quality and safety standards
- Monitor temperature control, storage conditions, and food handling practices
- Manage documentation related to inspections, audits, and corrective actions
Health & Safety Compliance
- Identify workplace hazards and ensure proper safety measures are implemented
- Report incidents and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions
- Support workplace safety initiatives and emergency response procedures
Training & Staff Awareness
- Deliver training on food hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Promote compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Ensure staff adherence to personal hygiene and food handling standards.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline
- 1–2 years of experience in QHSE, food safety, or quality control in retail or food service
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and UAE food safety regulations
- HACCP and PIC certification is an added advantage
- Good communication, audit, and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
