Speech Therapist (Speech and Language Therapist) wanted for DUbau, UAE to join a multidisciplinary healthcare and child development team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating children with speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, feeding, and swallowing disorders. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on helping children achieve their full communication potential and improve their quality of life.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with parents, teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, special educators, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive intervention strategies tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Key Responsibilities – Speech Therapist

Speech and Language Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and developmental assessments for children of various age groups.
  • Evaluate speech sound disorders, language delays, articulation difficulties, fluency disorders, voice disorders, and social communication challenges.
  • Administer standardized and informal assessment tools to determine communication strengths and areas requiring intervention.
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports, recommendations, and treatment plans.

Therapy Planning and Intervention

  • Develop individualized therapy programs based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices.
  • Design treatment goals that address speech clarity, expressive language, receptive language, social communication, literacy readiness, and functional communication skills.
  • Implement effective intervention strategies to improve speech production, language development, and communication abilities.
  • Adapt therapy techniques according to each child’s developmental level and learning style.

Individual and Group Therapy Sessions

  • Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions to support individualized learning objectives.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions that encourage peer interaction, communication development, and social skills enhancement.
  • Utilize engaging therapeutic activities, educational materials, and interactive learning tools to maximize participation and progress.
  • Monitor and adjust therapy plans based on ongoing evaluation and treatment outcomes.

Parent and Family Support

  • Educate parents and caregivers about speech and language development milestones.
  • Provide home-based exercises and communication strategies to reinforce therapy goals.
  • Offer guidance on managing communication difficulties in everyday environments.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding treatment progress and recommendations.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, behavior therapists, special educators, and medical professionals.
  • Participate in case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings, and intervention planning sessions.
  • Coordinate with schools and educational institutions to support children’s communication needs in academic settings.
  • Contribute to integrated treatment approaches that address developmental and educational goals.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records, assessment reports, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Document therapy outcomes, goal achievements, and recommendations for future intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare reports for parents, schools, healthcare providers, and regulatory authorities when required.

Community Engagement and Professional Development

  • Conduct workshops, awareness programs, and training sessions for parents, teachers, and caregivers on speech and language development.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives promoting early intervention and communication health.
  • Stay updated with the latest research, clinical practices, and advancements in speech-language pathology.
  • Attend professional development courses, seminars, conferences, and continuing education programs.

Therapeutic Equipment and Sensory Integration

  • Effectively utilize sensory rooms, assistive communication devices, therapy software, and specialized therapeutic equipment.
  • Incorporate sensory-based strategies to enhance engagement and communication outcomes during therapy sessions.
  • Maintain therapy resources and ensure safe use of clinical equipment.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
  • Valid UAE license or eligibility to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Experience Requirements – Speech Therapist

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric speech and language therapy.
  • Experience working with children with speech delays, language disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, learning difficulties, and communication disorders.
  • Candidates with up to 8 years of relevant clinical experience will be highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, special education settings, child development centers, or pediatric clinics is advantageous.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams is preferred.
