A technology-driven organisation in Dubai is seeking an experienced Odoo Developer to develop, customise, and maintain business applications using the Odoo ERP platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for building scalable modules, integrating business systems, improving application performance, and ensuring high-quality code that meets business requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development of complex Odoo modules, ensuring code quality, scalability, maintainability, and compliance with established development standards.
- Design, develop, and implement customised Odoo solutions, including new features, module enhancements, and third-party integrations.
- Customise existing Odoo modules to support business processes and operational requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance to junior developers, and promote coding best practices.
- Troubleshoot application issues, debug code, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.
- Develop and optimise database queries and improve application performance using PostgreSQL and the Odoo ORM.
- Build and maintain reports, user interfaces, and business workflows using QWeb, XML, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Implement access rights, record rules, and security configurations to ensure appropriate data access.
- Integrate Odoo with external applications and services using REST APIs and other suitable integration methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain version control, documentation, and development workflows using Git and other relevant tools.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on experience with Odoo development.
- Strong proficiency in Python and a good understanding of Odoo framework architecture.
- Practical experience developing, customising, and maintaining Odoo modules.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL queries, database design, and performance optimisation.
- Experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with the Odoo OWL framework and modern frontend development practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of Odoo ORM, QWeb reporting, access rights, record rules, and module development.
- Understanding of REST APIs, third-party integrations, and Git-based version control.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage development tasks, and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
