A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist specializing in Cytology and Histology to join its laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Cytology and Histology laboratory procedures, strong knowledge of laboratory quality management systems, and a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License. Candidates with experience in CAP-accredited laboratories and exposure to advanced laboratory technologies will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures and ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance within the Cytology and Histology sections.
Laboratory Operations & Testing
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in Cytology and Histology according to approved laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure accurate specimen preparation, staining, processing, examination, and reporting procedures.
- Conduct laboratory testing with precision while maintaining turnaround time requirements.
- Handle patient samples carefully while ensuring specimen integrity and traceability.
- Verify and validate laboratory test results before reporting.
Equipment Handling & Maintenance
- Operate laboratory analyzers, microscopes, histology processors, staining equipment, and related diagnostic instruments efficiently.
- Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality checks on laboratory equipment.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and laboratory safety procedures during equipment operation.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs when required.
- Participate in evaluating new laboratory technologies, methodologies, and equipment upgrades.
Quality Assurance & CAP Compliance
- Conduct daily Quality Control (QC) procedures and document results accurately.
- Participate in College of American Pathologists (CAP) Proficiency Testing programs.
- Review QC reports and investigate deviations, inconsistencies, and quality concerns.
- Assist in maintaining CAP accreditation standards and compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations.
- Support laboratory quality improvement initiatives and corrective/preventive action programs.
- Serve as the quality representative/link for assigned laboratory sections.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, reports, and quality documentation.
- Assist in preparing monthly laboratory statistics, workload analysis, KPIs, and quality reports.
- Report critical, urgent, and abnormal laboratory findings to physicians promptly.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of patient information at all times.
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding patient preparation, sample collection, and test requirements.
- Provide technical support and clarification regarding laboratory procedures when needed.
- Participate in laboratory meetings, focus groups, and quality review discussions.
Safety & Inventory Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with infection control and laboratory safety standards.
- Monitor laboratory inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
- Follow biosafety, waste disposal, and preventive safety measures consistently.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist Section Supervisors with method validation, evaluation, implementation, and laboratory setup activities.
- Investigate laboratory incidents, non-conformities, and customer complaints related to assigned sections.
- Perform additional laboratory-related duties as assigned by management.
Educational Qualifications -MLT
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related healthcare/science field.
- Diploma holders with relevant laboratory experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Cytology and Histology.
- Experience in hospital laboratories, diagnostic centers, or CAP-accredited laboratories preferred.
License & Certifications – MLT
- Current and valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies
