QHSE Officer wanted at a leading al Jazeera Catering Abu Dhbai, UAE. To lead and manage the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental functions for our catering and hospitality operations in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will ensure that all business activities comply with food safety regulations, occupational health and safety requirements, HACCP standards, ISO systems, and environmental best practices.

This opportunity is ideal for a proactive QHSE professional with strong leadership experience in the catering, hospitality, or food manufacturing sector.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of company-wide QHSE and food safety management systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HACCP, food hygiene standards, and UAE municipality/regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor food production, storage, transport, and service operations for adherence to food safety procedures.
  • Review and maintain food safety documentation including SOPs, CCP records, risk assessments, and corrective action reports.

Audit & Compliance Control

  • Conduct routine QHSE inspections, internal audits, hygiene audits, and compliance assessments across operational sites.
  • Coordinate with third-party auditors, certification bodies, and government inspectors during audits and inspections.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action plans to address audit findings and operational non-conformities.

Health & Safety Oversight

  • Implement workplace health and safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct hazard analysis, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor PPE usage, emergency preparedness, and safety training compliance.
  • Drive accident prevention and safety awareness campaigns.

Environmental & Sustainability Management

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitor waste management, chemical handling, and environmental impact controls.
  • Deliver QHSE, HACCP, food hygiene, and workplace safety training programs to employees.
  • Supervise and mentor junior food safety/QHSE personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in quality and safety practices.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate QHSE records, audit reports, CAPA logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Generate management reports and QHSE performance dashboards.
  • Track departmental KPIs and recommend operational improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant QHSE experience, including leadership exposure in catering, hospitality, food production, or industrial kitchen environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • HACCP & Food Safety Management Systems
    • ISO 22000 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
    • Occupational Health & Safety Standards
    • Internal & External Audit Processes
    • UAE Food Safety Regulations
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced HACCP / Food Safety Certification mandatory.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and staff training capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Immediate availability is an advantage.
