Formulation Chemist – Body Spray Ajman

A leading cosmetics and personal care manufacturing company in Ajman, UAE is seeking a highly skilled Body Spray Formulation Chemist with strong expertise in aerosol deodorant formulation, fragrance compatibility, and cosmetic product development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative body spray formulations, ensuring product stability, optimizing fragrance performance, and supporting the scale-up of formulations from laboratory research to commercial manufacturing.

Aerosol Body Spray & Deodorant Formulation

• Develop innovative aerosol body spray and deodorant formulations that deliver effective odor control, pleasant fragrance release, and long-lasting performance.
• Optimize product characteristics such as spray pattern, evaporation rate, skin feel, and fragrance stability to enhance overall consumer experience.
• Select appropriate aerosol propellants, solvents, surfactants, and fragrance oils to ensure compatibility and product stability.

Product Testing & Stability Studies

• Conduct comprehensive laboratory testing including stability studies, accelerated aging tests, and compatibility assessments with packaging materials such as aerosol cans, valves, and actuators.
• Evaluate product performance under different environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and storage variations.
• Monitor fragrance retention, spray consistency, and overall product performance throughout the product lifecycle.

Troubleshooting & Product Optimization

• Investigate and resolve formulation challenges such as phase separation, fragrance degradation, pressure inconsistencies, or spray performance issues.
• Identify root causes of formulation problems and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Continuously improve existing formulations to enhance product performance, stability, and cost efficiency.

Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support

• Support the scale-up of aerosol formulations from laboratory trials to pilot plant and full-scale manufacturing.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and reproducibility of product quality during large-scale manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance during batch production, filling operations, and packaging compatibility tests.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure formulations comply with cosmetic safety regulations, international standards, and UAE cosmetic regulations.
• Maintain accurate formulation documentation, laboratory records, testing reports, and technical specifications.
• Support regulatory submissions, product registration, and safety documentation when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or Biotechnology a related field with specialization in formulation science or aerosol technology.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in aerosol formulation, specifically in body sprays, deodorants, and personal care aerosol products.
• Experience working in cosmetics manufacturing, personal care product development, or fragrance-based formulations is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of aerosol propellant systems, solvents, emulsifiers, surfactants, and fragrance chemistry.
• Experience with stability testing, compatibility testing, and product performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with aerosol packaging systems including cans, valves, and spray mechanisms.
• Understanding of cosmetic safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory compliance in the personal care industry.
