A growing foodstuff trading company based in Dubai, is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Food Quality Controller .candidate should have hands-on experience in quality control within the UAE food industry, particularly in handling perishable food products such as fresh produce, dairy, meat, seafood, and frozen items.

This role is crucial in maintaining the company’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality food products to customers across the hospitality, catering, and retail sectors. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring food quality, ensuring compliance with HACCP food safety standards, and maintaining adherence to UAE Municipality regulations and food safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the required quality standards and safety regulations before distribution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct regular quality inspections of incoming and outgoing food products, particularly perishable items such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, poultry, seafood, and frozen foods.
  • Verify that food products comply with quality specifications, shelf-life standards, and storage requirements.
  • Implement and monitor HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) procedures to ensure food safety across all stages of handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Inspect product packaging, labeling, and storage conditions to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality food safety regulations.
  • Monitor temperature control procedures for chilled and frozen food products to maintain product integrity and prevent spoilage.
  • Maintain detailed quality control records, inspection reports, and documentation for internal audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify non-conforming products and coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and management to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support internal quality audits and assist in preparing documentation required for food safety certifications and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure that all warehouse operations follow proper hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure proper handling and storage of perishable food items.
  • Use Microsoft Excel for maintaining data records, inventory quality reports, and performing analysis using advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the UAE working as a Quality Controller, Food Safety Officer, or QA/QC professional in the foodstuff trading or food distribution industry.
  • Proven experience handling perishable food items including fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy, and frozen products.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety management systems.
  • Certification or training in Food Safety, HACCP, or Quality Assurance is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE food safety standards, and compliance requirements related to food trading and distribution.
  • Familiarity with labor safety rules and workplace compliance regulations in the UAE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with suppliers, warehouse staff, and management teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP for reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle flexible working hours when required.
