Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a multidisciplinary pediatric team based in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), Dubai. This role is ideal for a compassionate and highly skilled therapist who is passionate about supporting children’s sensory, motor, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) development within a neurodiversity.
The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and implement individualized occupational therapy programs tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. You will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic, evidence-based care.

1. Neurodiversity-Affirming Occupational Therapy Practice
- Practice within the Neurodiversity paradigm, recognizing and respecting neurological differences as natural variations of human diversity.
- Create a therapeutic environment that prioritizes client autonomy, strengths, and individual sensory profiles.
- Focus on meaningful participation rather than compliance-based interventions.
- Be open to continuous professional development in neurodiversity-affirming care if not already experienced.
2. Sensory-Based Assessments & Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive sensory processing and sensory integration assessments.
- Develop targeted intervention plans that address sensory modulation, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.
- Provide practical sensory strategies for use at home and school to maximize daily performance.
- Guide parents, teachers, and caregivers on implementing individualized sensory supports.
3. Strength-Based, Child-Centered Approach
- Use a strength-based occupational therapy approach.
- Focus on enhancing sensory regulation and functional independence rather than enforcing sitting tolerance or compliance.
- Support development in:
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Sensory processing
- Self-care and ADL skills
- Executive functioning
4. Co-Therapy & Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) as part of structured co-therapy sessions.
- Participate in interdisciplinary planning and intervention strategies.
- Contribute to a cohesive and integrated treatment plan aligned with the child’s goals.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Generate detailed assessment reports and therapy progress notes in the format provided by the organization.
- Ensure compliance with DHA standards and clinic protocols.
6. Care Plan Meetings & Team Coordination
- Attend and actively contribute to Individualized Care Plan (ICP) meetings.
- Review existing data and clinical observations to refine therapy goals.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and collaborative strategies.
7. Parent Training & Online Educational Programs
- Support the development of online resources, webinars, and workshops.
- Coach and empower parents using the Sensory Integration Therapy approach.
- Provide evidence-based guidance to help families implement strategies in daily routines.
Qualifications –Occupational Therapy
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Valid DHA License (Dubai Health Authority).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children in pediatric settings preferred.
- Knowledge of sensory integration, executive functioning, and neurodiversity-affirming practices is highly desirable.
