A well-established name in the F&B and bakery industry in Dubai, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to strengthen its finance and accounting operations. This role is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented finance professional with strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and food & hospitality accounting practices.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing daily accounting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting financial planning, and mentoring junior accounting team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, review, and control daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards
- Perform and review bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and cost allocations
- Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations, statutory requirements, and internal financial controls
- Support budget preparation, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Monitor cost control, inventory valuation, and food cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities when required
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely closing of accounts
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance financial efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Mentor, guide, and review the work of junior accountants, ensuring adherence to company policies and best practices
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CA / ACCA / CPA qualification will be a strong advantage
- 4–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the F&B, bakery, retail, or hospitality sector
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards and UAE VAT laws
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership qualities with experience in team supervision and mentoring
