Speech Therapist to join a multidisciplinary Special Needs School team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence-based speech and language therapy services to students and external beneficiaries. Key Responsibilities – Speech Therapist
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments for current students and external beneficiaries using approved assessment methods and standardized tools.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student’s specific communication needs and developmental goals.
- Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques recognized by the organization.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as required.
- Prepare detailed assessment reports, therapy reports, progress updates, and other clinical documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
- Ensure timely submission of therapy reports and progress records to parents, guardians, and beneficiaries.
- Provide the Administrative Department with required documentation for student records, including Individualized Transition Plans (ITP), progress reports, and related files.
- Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and ITP meetings alongside parents, teachers, therapists, and support staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ educational, behavioral, and developmental goals.
- Offer guidance and consultation to parents regarding therapy schedules, home programs, and communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with organizational policies and professional standards.
- Stay updated on the latest developments, research, and best practices in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of therapy services, assessment methods, intervention programs, and report-writing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
- UAE Ministry of Higher Education Equivalency Certificate is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Speech Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist in a school, rehabilitation center, special education center, clinic, or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of speech, language, communication, and developmental disorders.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
- Excellent report-writing, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken) – Mandatory.
License Requirements
- DOH, HAAD, or DHA license is not required for this position.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
