MLT Lab Technician to join a healthcare organization in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The MLT Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting laboratory-based scientific and diagnostic activities by performing routine laboratory procedures, handling samples, operating laboratory equipment, conducting tests, recording results, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience working in a UAE healthcare laboratory environment. Candidates with a valid Department of Health (DOH) license are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests, examinations, and technical procedures according to established protocols.
  • Receive, identify, label, prepare, and process patient or laboratory samples accurately.
  • Handle blood, urine, tissue, and other clinical or biological specimens as required by the laboratory.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Prepare reagents, solutions, media, and other laboratory materials according to approved procedures.
  • Conduct laboratory analyses and ensure test results are accurate and reliable.
  • Record, verify, and maintain laboratory test results and related documentation.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), laboratory protocols, and quality control requirements.
  • Perform routine quality control checks and report any abnormal or inconsistent results to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, transportation, and disposal of laboratory samples and materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the laboratory.
  • Follow healthcare laboratory safety procedures and applicable infection-control requirements.
  • Handle laboratory chemicals, biological specimens, and equipment safely.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions or technical issues and report them promptly.
  • Assist senior laboratory professionals, scientists, pathologists, or healthcare teams when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory records.
  • Ensure laboratory activities comply with organizational policies and applicable UAE healthcare requirements.
  • Participate in inventory management and monitor laboratory supplies, reagents, consumables, and equipment.
  • Support internal quality assurance and laboratory accreditation activities when required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology (mlt), Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or a related laboratory discipline may be considered depending on the employer’s requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years of UAE healthcare laboratory experience is required.
  • Candidates should have practical experience working in a clinical or healthcare laboratory environment.
  • Experience with routine laboratory testing, sample processing, documentation, and laboratory equipment is preferred.

License and Certification – MLT

  • DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) License is preferred.
  • Candidates with DOH eligibility or relevant UAE healthcare licensing experience may also be considered depending on the employer’s requirements.
