Autism clinic in Dubai is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to provide assessment and speech-language therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults from 2 years of age through adulthood.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for assessing communication needs, developing individualized therapy goals, delivering one-to-one and group sessions, monitoring progress, and supporting families and classroom staff.Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems is essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments to identify students’ communication needs and difficulties.
  • Develop appropriate therapy goals based on individual assessment findings and student needs.
  • Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with SPED teachers, Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
  • Deliver speech and language therapy sessions in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress through continuous data collection and analysis.
  • Use therapy data to make evidence-based and data-driven decisions regarding intervention strategies and goals.
  • Collaborate with classroom staff to support the implementation and generalization of speech and language objectives within the classroom environment.
  • Provide training and guidance to teachers and other support staff on communication strategies and therapy objectives.
  • Coach parents and caregivers on strategies that can be used to support communication development and continue intervention at home.
  • Prepare detailed quarterly progress reports documenting students’ development and therapy outcomes.
  • Participate in quarterly progress meetings with parents and caregivers.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and consistent intervention.
  • Assess and support individuals with feeding or swallowing difficulties where appropriately qualified and experienced.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Educational qualifications must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs as required.
  • Previous experience working with children or adults with autism spectrum disorder and developmental or communication difficulties is preferred.
  • Practical experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems is essential.
  • Training or certification in one or more of the following is highly preferred:
    • PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
    • AAC
    • Makaton
    • Hanen programs
    • PROMPT therapy
  • Previous experience using the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) is preferred.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical or educational team is advantageous.
  • Experience in feeding and swallowing assessment or intervention is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, documentation, parent-coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, families, teachers, and multidisciplinary professionals.
