Medical Laboratory Medical Coder Executive to join healthcare team for Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate should have experience in medical coding, outpatient billing, and UAE healthcare insurance approvals, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate medical coding for laboratory and outpatient billing services.
  • Review medical records, laboratory reports, and clinical documentation to assign appropriate medical codes.
  • Handle medical insurance pre-authorizations and approval requests.
  • Submit and follow up on insurance approval requests through insurer and TPA portals.
  • Coordinate with medical staff, billing teams, and insurance providers regarding approvals and clarifications.
  • Manage approval modifications, re-submissions, and insurance claim denials.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare insurance requirements and applicable DHA guidelines.
  • Apply knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Review medical necessity, insurance benefits, exclusions, copayments, and deductibles.
  • Maintain accurate coding records and prepare basic reports using MS Excel.
  • Support smooth coordination between laboratory operations, medical teams, and insurance departments.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of UAE experience in medical coding is required.
  • AAPC medical coding certification, such as CPC, is preferred.
  • Medical background in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, or a related healthcare discipline.
  • Good knowledge of medical coding for outpatient billing.
  • Experience with UAE healthcare insurance approvals and pre-authorizations.
  • Familiarity with major UAE insurers and TPAs, including Nextcare, NAS/Neuron, MedNet, Daman, Sukoon, and Al Madallah.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
  • Experience using insurer portals and EMR/HIS systems.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, email communication, and basic reporting.
