Sustainability Internship – Dubai

A leading sustainability consultancy in the Dubaiis seeking a Sustainability Interns to join its growing team in Dubai. This internship is designed for university students who have completed at least four years of academic study and are passionate about sustainability, environmental management, green building practices, and climate-conscious development.

This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to sustainable design, green building certification systems, environmental consulting, project management, and construction sustainability practices. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced sustainability professionals and contribute to real-world projects across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability & Project Support

• Assist the Sustainability Team in delivering sustainability consulting services.
• Support the preparation and development of sustainability reports and technical documentation.
• Assist in creating professional presentations and client deliverables.
• Participate in site visits and office-based consultancy activities.
• Conduct sustainability-related research on products, technologies, materials, and environmental solutions.
• Support project managers in scheduling, resource planning, meeting coordination, and stakeholder communication.
• Assist in implementing project management principles and best practices.

Green Building & Certification Support

• Support green building certification processes including LEED and BREEAM documentation.
• Assist in preparing project specifications, calculations, plans, and submittals required for certification compliance.
• Help track sustainability credits and maintain certification documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, MEP engineers, and civil engineers regarding sustainability requirements.
• Support environmental performance assessments and sustainable design reviews.

Research & Technical Analysis

• Conduct market and technology research related to sustainable construction and environmental performance.
• Analyze sustainability trends, regulations, and emerging green technologies.
• Assist in evaluating sustainable materials, energy-efficient systems, and environmental solutions.

Professional Development

• Participate in training and development activities.
• Develop skills required to become a full member of the sustainability consulting team.
• Build knowledge of environmental standards, sustainability frameworks, and green building certifications.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Responsibilities

• Follow all company Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
• Comply with Alpin’s Integrated Management System requirements.
• Contribute to reducing environmental impacts associated with daily work activities.
• Familiarize yourself with Environmental Impact Assessment procedures and sustainability objectives.
• Act in accordance with legal responsibilities and company policies regarding workplace safety and environmental protection.

Internship- Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or near completion) in:
  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Construction Management
  • Sustainability or related disciplines
• Completion of at least four years of university studies.
• Strong passion for sustainability, climate action, and environmental stewardship.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent planning, organization, and time-management skills.

Sustainability – Skills & Certifications

• Knowledge of sustainability standards and green building certification systems.
• Familiarity with:
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
  • BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method)
• Working toward professional credentials such as:
  • LEED Green Associate (LEED GA)
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
  • PQP (Pearl Qualified Professional)
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and project management practices.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and presentation software.

Additional Requirements

• UAE Driving License preferred.
• Personal transportation preferred.
• Must currently reside in Dubai, UAE.
