Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Evaluation
- Review physician referrals, prescriptions, medical histories, and diagnostic reports.
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments to determine patient needs.
- Evaluate muscle strength, joint mobility, balance, coordination, posture, gait, sensory perception, and functional capacity.
- Assess respiratory and circulatory efficiency when required.
- Document clinical findings and establish measurable rehabilitation goals.
Treatment Planning and Rehabilitation
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical findings.
- Implement evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to improve physical function and mobility.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, stretching programs, strengthening activities, and functional training.
- Provide rehabilitation services for orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, geriatric, and post-operative patients.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Therapeutic Modalities
- Administer physical therapy treatments using specialized equipment and therapeutic modalities.
- Operate hydrotherapy systems, whirlpool baths, ultrasound therapy devices, infrared and ultraviolet therapy equipment, and moist heat packs.
- Utilize manual therapy techniques to relieve pain and restore movement.
- Ensure safe and effective use of physiotherapy equipment according to clinical guidelines.
Patient Education and Support
- Educate patients and family members regarding treatment goals and rehabilitation plans.
- Provide instructions for home exercise programs and self-management techniques.
- Encourage patient participation and adherence to prescribed treatment programs.
- Promote injury prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Document assessments, treatment interventions, patient responses, and progress notes.
- Update electronic medical records (EMR) in accordance with organizational standards.
- Prepare reports and communicate treatment outcomes to the healthcare team.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in case discussions and rehabilitation planning meetings.
- Recommend treatment modifications based on patient progress and clinical findings.
- Ensure proper patient handovers during shift changes and periods of absence.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Adhere to hospital policies, healthcare regulations, and patient safety standards.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Comply with cybersecurity policies and healthcare data protection requirements.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and mandatory training programs.
- Support person-centered care practices and professional ethical standards.
Leadership and Team Support
- Guide and support physiotherapy assistants and rehabilitation aides.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Completion of required clinical internship for professional registration.
- Valid professional license or eligibility to practice Physiotherapy in Saudi Arabia.
- SCFHS registration preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of physiotherapy experience in a hospital, rehabilitation center, or healthcare facility.
- Fresh graduates with strong clinical internship experience may also be considered.
