Pharmacy Domain Experts to support advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) evaluation and training projects. The role is designed for qualified pharmacy professionals who have strong clinical knowledge and regularly use UpToDate Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) or similar clinical decision-support tools in their professional practice.
The selected remote candidate will evaluate pharmacy-related AI outputs, verify clinical accuracy, identify missed interactions or dosing concerns, and ensure medication-related recommendations align with real-world pharmacy practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate AI-generated pharmacy and medication-related content for accuracy and clinical relevance.
- Assess medication interaction checks using complete patient medication profiles rather than evaluating isolated drug combinations.
- Verify the accuracy of:
- Drug-drug interactions
- Contraindications
- Boxed warnings
- Drug precautions and safety alerts
- Dose adjustments
- Patient-specific medication recommendations
- Analyze whether medication recommendations are clinically appropriate based on:
- Patient history
- Current medications
- Laboratory values
- Weight and clinical parameters
- Comorbidities
- Identify cases where a medication may be technically allowed but unsuitable for a specific patient.
- Review renal and hepatic dose-adjustment recommendations using appropriate clinical guidelines and patient data.
- Evaluate AI responses against Lexidrug/Lexicomp monographs and clinical references.
- Identify outdated information, missed warnings, incorrect calculations, or incomplete clinical assessments.
- Verify whether appropriate clinical actions are completed, including:
- Medication order updates
- Prescriber communication
- Clinical documentation
- Patient care follow-up
Required
Candidates should have hands-on experience with:
- Complete medication-list interaction screening and interpretation.
- Understanding severity ratings and mechanisms of drug interactions.
- Applying contraindications, boxed warnings, and precautions to individual patient cases.
- Differentiating between:
- “Not contraindicated”
- “Clinically appropriate for the patient”
- Interpreting Special Alerts and reconciling them with medication monographs.
- Applying renal and hepatic dose adjustment recommendations based on patient-specific information.
Preferred Specialized Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge in at least 2–3 of the following areas:
- IV medication compatibility using Trissel’s IV Compatibility Database.
- Pediatric and weight-based medication dosing.
- Geriatric medication safety and Beers Criteria.
- Pregnancy and lactation medication risk assessment.
- REMS programs and prescribing restrictions.
- Controlled substances and medication access requirements.
- Therapeutic alternatives based on allergies, shortages, and formulary restrictions.
- Drug identification and patient medication education materials.
- Multilingual patient counseling resources.
Candidate Requirements:
- PharmD degree or equivalent pharmacy qualification.
- Active pharmacy license or verified clinical pharmacy experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of professional pharmacy experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with:
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Inpatient clinical pharmacy background
- ICU, oncology, pediatrics, geriatrics, or specialty pharmacy experience
- Regular professional use of UpToDate Lexidrug or Lexicomp (weekly or more frequently).
- Strong understanding of medication safety, clinical decision-making, and pharmacy practice.
- Ability to independently analyze complex medication scenarios.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to evaluate healthcare information accurately.
