Seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Laboratory Supervisor in Abu Dhbai, to oversee and manage pharmaceutical, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring laboratory operations run efficiently, maintaining laboratory safety standards, supervising laboratory activities, supporting student training, and coordinating internship programs.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong laboratory management experience, expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, and the ability to supervise staff and students in an academic or research environment.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Management and Supervision
- Prepare, organize, and supervise undergraduate laboratories in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, and related disciplines.
- Ensure laboratory facilities are maintained according to institutional and regulatory standards.
- Monitor laboratory operations to ensure smooth workflow and effective utilization of resources.
- Supervise laboratory assistants and support staff, assigning duties and monitoring performance.
Equipment and Materials Management
- Ensure chemicals, reagents, laboratory supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and operational.
- Conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and coordinate maintenance and calibration activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for chemicals, reagents, consumables, and laboratory assets.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Laboratory Safety and Compliance
- Implement and enforce laboratory health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional laboratory safety policies and international best practices.
- Conduct safety training sessions and emergency preparedness programs for students and staff.
- Monitor laboratory practices to minimize risks and maintain a safe learning environment.
Student Training and Academic Support
- Train students in the proper use of laboratory instruments, analytical equipment, and scientific techniques.
- Demonstrate laboratory procedures and provide technical support during practical sessions.
- Assist faculty members in laboratory-based teaching and research activities.
- Support students in developing laboratory skills and scientific competencies.
Internship Coordination
- Coordinate student internship placements with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare institutions, and research organizations.
- Monitor student progress during internships and maintain communication with industry partners.
- Assist in evaluating internship outcomes and preparing reports.
Research and Development Support
- Provide technical assistance for research projects conducted by faculty and students.
- Support laboratory-based research initiatives and scientific investigations.
- Ensure laboratory protocols and documentation meet research quality standards.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory reports, safety documentation, and inventory records.
- Develop and update laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management or academic leadership.
Student Engagement Activities
- Initiate and organize extracurricular scientific activities, workshops, laboratory demonstrations, and educational events.
- Promote innovation, scientific research, and student participation in laboratory-based projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Previous experience supervising pharmaceutical, chemical, biomedical, or academic laboratories is preferred.
- National or international professional laboratory certifications/licenses will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laboratory operations and analytical techniques.
- Understanding of medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomedical analysis.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, testing procedures, and scientific methodologies.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and safety management systems.
- Ability to supervise, schedule, and coordinate the work of laboratory personnel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple laboratory activities simultaneously.
