The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the microbiological quality and safety of raw materials, in-process products, finished pharmaceutical products, purified water systems, and manufacturing environments. The position requires strong technical expertise, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities – Pharma Microbiologist
As a Microbiologist Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, finished pharmaceutical products, purified water, and environmental monitoring samples.
- Conduct routine microbiological tests, including Sterility Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET), Microbial Limit Testing (MLT), Bioburden Testing, and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing (AET).
- Prepare microbiological culture media, microbial cultures, reagents, buffers, and laboratory solutions following approved procedures.
- Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, production areas, equipment, and personnel according to GMP requirements.
- Operate, calibrate, verify, troubleshoot, and maintain microbiology laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, laminar airflow cabinets, colony counters, microscopes, pH meters, and air samplers.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, test records, logbooks, worksheets, and analytical reports in accordance with GLP and data integrity requirements.
- Investigate microbiological deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and contamination events while supporting corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in laboratory method validation, method verification, and microbiological investigations.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, SOPs, GMP, GLP, and regulatory guidelines.
- Support laboratory audits, internal inspections, and regulatory audits by maintaining proper documentation and laboratory readiness.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and ensure adequate stock of microbiological media, reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Validation, and other departments to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-free working environment.
Job Requirements – Pharma Microbiologist
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, microbiology laboratory, healthcare laboratory, or quality control environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microbial Limit Testing (MLT), Sterility Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET), Bioburden Testing, Environmental Monitoring, and related microbiological techniques.
- Hands-on experience with microbiology laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and pharmaceutical quality systems.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques, contamination control, and microbiological risk management.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
