The successful candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, practical expertise in manual therapy techniques, and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. The physiotherapist will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery, improve physical function, and achieve rehabilitation goals.

This position is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with a strong background in manual manipulation, musculoskeletal conditions, and a range of physiotherapy treatment modalities.

Job Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Clinical Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments to evaluate patients’ physical conditions, functional limitations, pain levels, and rehabilitation requirements.
  • Assess musculoskeletal conditions, mobility limitations, injuries, and physical impairments.
  • Review patients’ medical histories and relevant clinical information to support appropriate treatment planning.
  • Identify patient-specific rehabilitation goals and develop individualized care strategies.
  • Monitor patients’ progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings and treatment outcomes.

Manual Therapy and Physiotherapy Treatment

  • Develop and implement personalized physiotherapy treatment plans using manual manipulation techniques and evidence-based clinical approaches.
  • Administer manual therapy, joint mobilization, and manipulation techniques, where clinically appropriate and within the practitioner’s scope of practice.
  • Apply hands-on treatment techniques to help reduce pain, improve joint mobility, restore physical function, and support rehabilitation.
  • Utilize appropriate physiotherapy treatment modalities, including:
    • Ultrasound therapy
    • Electrical stimulation
    • Heat therapy
    • Cold therapy
    • Manual mobilization
    • Therapeutic exercise
  • Select appropriate treatment methods based on patients’ clinical assessments, treatment goals, and individual needs.
  • Ensure that manual therapy and other treatment procedures are delivered safely and in accordance with clinical protocols.

Patient Rehabilitation and Education

  • Educate patients about their conditions, rehabilitation programs, injury prevention, and appropriate home care practices.
  • Provide guidance on therapeutic exercises, stretching, mobility improvement, and functional rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrate home exercise programs and encourage patients to follow prescribed rehabilitation routines.
  • Support patients in improving physical function, mobility, independence, and quality of life.
  • Communicate treatment objectives, expected progress, and relevant aftercare instructions to patients and their families.

Multidisciplinary Healthcare Collaboration

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions concerning patient progress, treatment plans, and rehabilitation requirements.
  • Share relevant clinical observations and treatment updates with members of the healthcare team.
  • Refer patients for further clinical assessment when additional medical evaluation is required, following appropriate professional procedures.

Clinical Documentation and Quality Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, assessment reports, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Document physiotherapy interventions, patient responses, and treatment outcomes in accordance with healthcare documentation standards.
  • Follow applicable clinical guidelines, patient safety procedures, and professional practice requirements.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of clinical protocols and treatment procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with relevant healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

Professional Development and Team Support

  • Stay informed about developments in physiotherapy, manual therapy, rehabilitation techniques, and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Participate in professional development activities, training programs, and clinical learning opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior physiotherapists and support staff when required.
  • Share clinical knowledge and contribute to the development of a collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Promote compassionate, professional, and patient-centered physiotherapy services.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited educational institution.
  • Valid UAE physiotherapy professional license or eligibility to practice in Abu Dhabi, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Physiotherapist, as specified in the job requirements.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manual manipulation or manual therapy is preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in manual manipulation, mobilization, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, clinical evaluation, and physiotherapy treatment planning.
  • Practical knowledge of physiotherapy modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat therapy, and cold therapy.
  • Strong hands-on skills and manual dexterity in appropriate manual therapy techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
