A leading healthcare services and management organization in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join its advanced clinical laboratory team.
The successful candidate will perform a wide range of chemical, hematological, immunological, microbiological, and biological laboratory tests to support accurate patient diagnosis while maintaining international laboratory quality standards such as ISO 15189, CAP, and AABB. The role also involves operating sophisticated laboratory equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality management systems.
Candidates with experience in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Automated Laboratory Platforms are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
- Conduct chemical, biological, hematological, immunological, and clinical laboratory investigations for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Ensure laboratory instruments meet operational and quality performance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, maintenance records, and quality control activities.
- Record and verify laboratory results using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Release laboratory reports to physicians according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory reagents, consumables, and supplies.
- Report shortages and coordinate procurement of laboratory materials.
- Support equipment inspections and maintenance in collaboration with biomedical engineering teams.
- Participate in laboratory quality assurance, quality control, method validation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 15189, CAP, AABB, and internal laboratory quality standards.
- Follow infection prevention, biosafety, environmental safety, and waste disposal protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all healthcare privacy regulations.
- Assist in preparing laboratory reports and evaluating analytical data.
- Supervise and mentor junior laboratory personnel when required.
- Participate in clinical audits, accreditation activities, and departmental quality programs.
- Communicate professionally with physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support orientation, training, and competency assessment of new laboratory staff.
- Attend continuing education programs, workshops, seminars, and mandatory training sessions.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications.

Qualifications – MLT
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent qualification with a minimum three-year accredited training program.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist program leading to ASCP, CSMLS, or an equivalent professional registration.
- Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) License as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or accredited laboratory.

- Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science or a related Clinical Laboratory discipline.
- Candidates holding a relevant Master’s degree may qualify with 1+ year of clinical laboratory experience.
- UAE Nationals may apply upon successful completion of the required internship.
