Abu Dhabi Healthcare is seeking a qualified and experienced Physiotherapist (MSK) to provide evidence-based physiotherapy services to patients with musculoskeletal injuries, pain conditions, disabilities, and rehabilitation needs. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat patients using advanced physiotherapy techniques to restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being.

The Physiotherapist will play a key role in patient education, rehabilitation planning, and multidisciplinary healthcare collaboration while ensuring compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations and international clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy care in accordance with internationally recognized evidence-based clinical guidelines and treatment protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical history reviews and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, injuries, pain disorders, and movement dysfunctions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, rehabilitation programs, and measurable patient recovery goals.
  • Utilize a range of physiotherapy treatment techniques, including:
    • Manual Therapy
    • Joint Mobilization and Manipulation
    • Soft Tissue Therapy and Massage
    • Electrotherapy Modalities
    • Dry Needling
    • Medical Acupuncture
    • Therapeutic Exercise Programs
  • Prescribe and supervise rehabilitation exercises to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Identify cases requiring additional medical evaluation and refer patients back to physicians when necessary.
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Determine appropriate treatment frequency and physiotherapy visit schedules based on patient needs and clinical findings.

Documentation and Record Management

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and outcomes.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality, privacy, and data security at all times.
  • Obtain and document informed consent for physiotherapy interventions.
  • Adhere to patient rights and responsibilities guidelines.

Patient Education and Health Promotion

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, rehabilitation goals, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
  • Provide guidance on safe manual handling, lifting techniques, posture correction, and ergonomic practices.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare through patient education initiatives.
  • Participate in community awareness programs, health campaigns, educational seminars, and public lectures.

Professional Development and Training

  • Contribute to departmental in-service education and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Stay updated with current physiotherapy practices, clinical research, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Complete all mandatory annual training and competency requirements.

Insurance and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with insurance providers, physicians, and administrative teams to obtain treatment approvals and authorizations.
  • Understand and manage physiotherapy insurance processes and electronic authorization systems.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth patient treatment approvals and reimbursement procedures.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain a valid Department of Health (DOH) license.
  • Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, infection control protocols, and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid DOH License as a Physiotherapist OR DOH Exam Exempted.
  • Candidates holding valid DHA or MOH licenses are also encouraged to apply.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy experience.
  • Strong experience in outpatient physiotherapy and rehabilitation settings.
  • Proven expertise in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
  • Experience with dry needling and medical acupuncture is an advantage.
