Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) wanted in Sharjah, UAE, with a leading hospital Administration. Medical Laboratory Technologist – MLT responsible for performing laboratory-based diagnostic tasks, including specimen collection, processing, testing, analysis, documentation, and reporting. The role involves providing accurate and timely laboratory results while maintaining compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and accreditation requirements.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist will support laboratory operations, maintain equipment, participate in quality assurance programs, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory procedures according to UHS laboratory policies and standard operating procedures.
- Collect, receive, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Ensure proper identification, handling, storage, transportation, and referral of laboratory samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established guidelines.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain accurate test results.
- Maintain laboratory records, reports, and documentation using LIS/HIS systems.
- Assist the Laboratory Director in coordinating laboratory activities and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with international accreditation standards and hospital policies.

- Follow laboratory safety procedures, infection control guidelines, and fire safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with consultant pathologists, senior technologists, nurses, and medical staff.
- Participate in training programs, CME activities, seminars, and professional development initiatives.
- Provide technical support and guidance to laboratory team members.
- Work across different laboratory sections as required.
- Participate in shift duties according to the laboratory roster.
- Receive patients and collect blood and other specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transportation of samples.
- Prepare specimens for analysis and referral laboratories.
- Follow all safety precautions during specimen handling and transportation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital multidisciplinary clinical laboratory environment.
- Valid UAE MOH License is mandatory.
- Ability to work in different laboratory sections.
Skills – MLT UAE
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and diagnostic testing.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices.
- Good computer skills, including laboratory information systems (LIS/HIS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Teaching and training abilities are preferred.
