Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated Pharmacist with a valid DHA License to oversee all pharmacy operations during the evening shift. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, provide exceptional patient care, manage inventory effectively, and contribute to business growth through excellent customer service and product recommendations.
The role requires a professional who can work independently, solve problems confidently, and maintain smooth pharmacy operations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations Management
- Independently manage all evening pharmacy activities and daily operations.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of prescription medications in compliance with DHA regulations.
- Monitor workflow efficiency and implement improvements where necessary.
- Maintain professional standards of pharmaceutical practice at all times.
- Ensure proper opening, closing, and shift management procedures.
Patient Counseling & Healthcare Services
- Provide professional counseling regarding medication usage, dosage instructions, storage requirements, and potential side effects.
- Educate patients on drug interactions, contraindications, and adherence to treatment plans.
- Support patients with healthcare product recommendations and wellness advice.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate inventory availability.
- Conduct regular stock reconciliation and inventory audits.
- Manage expiry tracking and ensure timely removal of near-expiry products.
- Coordinate with suppliers and management regarding stock replenishment requirements.
- Forecast inventory needs based on sales trends and customer demand.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations and pharmacy standards.
- Maintain proper documentation for controlled medicines and narcotics.
- Ensure all prescription records, dispensing logs, and compliance reports are accurately maintained.
- Follow legal and ethical pharmaceutical practices at all times.
Business Development & Customer Engagement
- Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy sales and operational performance.
- Promote OTC medications, healthcare products, vitamins, supplements, and wellness items through ethical cross-selling and upselling.
- Build strong relationships with repeat customers, healthcare providers, and referring clinics.
- Support customer retention initiatives and service improvement strategies.
- Contribute ideas to increase pharmacy revenue and customer satisfaction.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and technicians.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and continuity of patient care.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior pharmacy staff when required.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash reconciliation and end-of-shift reporting.
- Handle insurance-related pharmacy transactions and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, prescriptions, and pharmacy activities.
- Generate reports required by management and regulatory authorities.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
- Valid and active Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Pharmacist License.
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience in Dubai, UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE pharmaceutical regulations and pharmacy practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong customer service and patient counseling skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to contribute to pharmacy growth.
- Availability to work consistently during evening shifts (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
Skills & Experience – Pharmacist
Candidates with the following experience will be highly preferred:
- Experience using pharmacy management systems such as PharmacyPlus or similar software.
- Knowledge of UAE healthcare platforms including Riayati and Malaffi.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processing and pre-approval procedures.
- Experience handling controlled drugs and narcotics documentation.
- Strong OTC product recommendation and wellness product sales skills.
- Inventory forecasting and stock optimization experience.
- Ability to supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy assistants and technicians.
- Experience working in high-volume retail pharmacy environments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience managing pharmacy sales through online delivery platforms such as Noon, Talabat, and Instashop.
