The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients, developing individualized physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs, delivering evidence-based treatment, and supporting patients in improving mobility, physical function, and overall quality of life.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, physical medicine, rehabilitation techniques, and patient care, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ physical conditions, functional limitations, mobility, pain levels, and rehabilitation requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Implement appropriate physiotherapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, rehabilitation programs, and mobility interventions.
  • Provide treatment to improve patients’ physical function, strength, flexibility, coordination, mobility, and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical outcomes and changing patient requirements.
  • Apply appropriate rehabilitation techniques based on the patient’s medical condition and treatment goals.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Record treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, outcomes, and follow-up recommendations in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families or caregivers on exercises, rehabilitation programs, mobility, posture, and appropriate home-care practices.
  • Promote safe patient handling and ensure that treatment is delivered in a safe and professional environment.
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, therapists, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals regarding treatment progress and rehabilitation goals.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, professional ethics, clinical policies, and organizational procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow appropriate standards for clinical information management.
  • Ensure that physiotherapy equipment and treatment areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and suitable condition.
  • Participate in professional development, continuing education, training, and clinical improvement activities.
  • Keep up to date with current physiotherapy practices, rehabilitation methods, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and support the implementation of improved models of physiotherapy service delivery.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
  • Support the organization’s commitment to quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and safe healthcare delivery.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy from an approved and recognized college or university.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional physiotherapy experience, preferably within a hospital, healthcare management, rehabilitation, or physical medicine environment.
  • Valid DHA or Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) license/eligibility as applicable to the position.
  • Strong practical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, physical medicine, rehabilitation, and therapeutic exercise.
  • Good understanding of physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation and physiotherapy programs.
  • Strong patient assessment, clinical reasoning, and treatment-planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Arabic language skills will be an advantage but are not mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a hospital or healthcare management environment.
  • Ability to establish professional rapport with patients and communicate treatment plans clearly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established clinical and organizational procedures.
  • Knowledge of the range and types of healthcare and rehabilitation services available for people with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to review existing procedures and contribute to improved models of service delivery based on patient and organizational requirements.
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, documentation, and time-management skills.
