Dubai London Hospital Group is seeking a DHA-eligible Medical Microbiologist to join its advanced clinical laboratory team in Dubai. This position is ideal for a qualified laboratory professional with specialized expertise in clinical microbiology, infectious disease diagnostics, and hospital-based laboratory operations.

This role plays a critical part in supporting accurate diagnosis, infection prevention, and patient safety, aligned with UAE healthcare regulations and international laboratory standards.

Job Overview

The Medical Microbiologist will be responsible for performing, analyzing, and supervising a wide range of microbiological tests and diagnostic procedures, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy, quality, and compliance within a hospital laboratory setting. The role also involves close collaboration with clinicians and infection control teams to support effective patient care and disease management.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, or a related healthcare field
  • Mandatory experience as a Medical Microbiologist in the UAE healthcare or hospital laboratory sector
  • Strong expertise in clinical microbiology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology
  • Proven experience in culture techniques, microbial identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST).
  • In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC), hospital hygiene, and biosafety protocols
  • Familiarity with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, CAP/JCI accreditation standards, and laboratory compliance systems
  • Valid DHA license or eligibility as a Medical Microbiologist
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills in a clinical environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee routine and specialized microbiological testing, including culture processing, staining, and organism identification
  • Conduct and validate antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) to support appropriate clinical treatment decisions
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting of laboratory test results to physicians and clinical teams
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and laboratory safety standards.
  • Monitor and implement infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in coordination with hospital teams
  • Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, international accreditation standards (CAP, JCI), and internal SOPs
  • Participate in laboratory audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate laboratory records, documentation, and data management systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes
