Food Safety Officer – Walk in Interview

Food Safety Officer for Dubai leading Fruits Company to oversee food safety and hygiene practices in a fresh fruits company in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing HACCP and ISO-based food safety systems, ensuring proper handling, storage, and quality of fresh produce, and maintaining compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of food safety standards, documentation, and audits, along with hands-on experience in the fresh fruits or food industry.

Job Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in line with HACCP principles, ISO 22000 standards, and Dubai Municipality food safety regulations.
• Oversee all aspects of fresh fruits handling, storage, sorting, packaging, and distribution to ensure product safety, quality, and freshness.
• Conduct routine food safety inspections, internal audits, and hygiene checks across warehouses, cold storage units, and operational areas.
• Monitor critical control points (CCPs), including temperature control, humidity levels, cross-contamination risks, and pest control measures.

• Ensure proper post-harvest handling practices are followed to minimize spoilage, contamination, and foodborne hazards.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation, logs, SOPs, and compliance reports in line with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformities identified during inspections or audits.
• Conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions for staff, including personal hygiene, sanitation, and safe handling of fresh produce.
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure supplier compliance and raw material quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with traceability and recall procedures for fresh fruits and related products.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and support external audits and inspections when required.
• Stay updated with the latest UAE food safety laws, international standards, and industry best practices in fresh produce safety.

Qualifications & Requirements – Food Safety Officer Jobs in Dubai

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of fresh fruits safety, post-harvest handling, storage conditions, and quality control practices.
• Mandatory HACCP Certification (Level 4 preferred) with a clear understanding of hazard analysis and risk management.
• Knowledge or certification in ISO 22000, FSMS, GMP, and food hygiene standards is highly desirable.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or fresh produce industry in the UAE or GCC.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality food safety regulations and inspection requirements.
• Strong skills in documentation, reporting, and audit preparation.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify food safety risks and implement corrective measures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train staff and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment such as fruit markets, warehouses, or distribution centers.
