The role involves working with patients experiencing musculoskeletal, joint, spinal, post-surgical, sports-related, and physical mobility conditions, while collaborating with doctors, rehabilitation professionals, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The Physiotherapist will be expected to deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with professional standards, DHA regulations, international clinical guidelines, and Joint Commission International (JCI) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients to identify physical, functional, musculoskeletal, and mobility-related problems.
- Conduct appropriate physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and regularly review physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation programs.
- Provide physiotherapy interventions for sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, joint problems, spinal conditions, and post-operative rehabilitation.
- Assist patients in recovering from accidents, injuries, surgery, neurological conditions, and other physical impairments.
- Support patients in improving mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
- Provide appropriate rehabilitation programs based on clinical assessment and evidence-based physiotherapy practices.
- Educate patients and their families or caregivers about treatment plans, exercises, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and strategies for improving physical function.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient case notes, clinical records, treatment documentation, and reports.
- Collect and maintain relevant patient statistics and physiotherapy service data.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment programs where clinically appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, healthcare professionals, and other members of the rehabilitation team.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to coordinated patient care.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, and other healthcare staff.
- Participate in education and awareness programs for patients, relatives, residents, and healthcare staff.
- Participate in continuing professional development, training programs, workshops, and courses to maintain and improve physiotherapy knowledge and skills.
- Ensure physiotherapy treatments are supported by current clinical evidence and accepted professional practices.
- Ensure physiotherapy equipment is safe, functional, clean, and adequately maintained.
- Coordinate with the Head of Department (HOD) regarding the maintenance, replacement, and procurement of physiotherapy equipment and supplies.
- Identify and report equipment issues, workplace hazards, and potential risks.
- Ensure all adverse clinical events and incidents are appropriately documented and reported.
- Maintain a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
- Follow established safe systems of work and infection prevention and control procedures.
- Participate in quality management initiatives, clinical audits, surveys, needs assessments, and continuous improvement programs.
- Maintain professional confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HOD or Medical Director.
- Follow applicable DHA regulations, international physiotherapy guidelines, healthcare standards, and Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements when providing patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy from an approved and recognized college or university.
- Valid professional license in the country of origin.
- DHA license to practice as a Physiotherapist in Dubai, UAE, or eligibility for DHA licensing.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Physical Medicine, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, or a related clinical setting.
- Experience in sports medicine, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, or sports injury rehabilitation is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, rehabilitation techniques, and patient management.
