Physiotherapist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing patients referred for physiotherapy, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence-based rehabilitation programs, and monitoring patient progress to achieve optimal functional outcomes.

The role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to manage a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative, and complex rehabilitation cases. The ideal candidate should demonstrate advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based physiotherapy practices across different stages of patient care.

The Physiotherapist will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to provide integrated, patient-centered rehabilitation services while maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Treatment Planning

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments to evaluate patients’ physical, functional, psychological, and mobility needs.
  • Analyze clinical findings and develop personalized rehabilitation and treatment plans based on patient conditions and goals.
  • Identify patient limitations, functional challenges, and rehabilitation requirements to establish appropriate therapy objectives.
  • Apply clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practices to determine the most effective treatment approaches.

Physiotherapy Treatment & Rehabilitation

  • Provide hands-on physiotherapy interventions for a variety of clinical conditions, including:
    • Musculoskeletal disorders
    • Neurological conditions
    • Post-surgical rehabilitation
    • Sports injuries
    • Complex rehabilitation cases
    • Hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation
  • Deliver therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, mobility training, functional rehabilitation, and patient education programs.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and modify therapy plans according to recovery progress and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure treatments are safe, effective, and aligned with current physiotherapy standards.

Patient-Centered Care

  • Establish clear rehabilitation goals in partnership with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Educate patients and families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, mobility improvement, and long-term wellness strategies.
  • Encourage patient participation and motivation throughout the rehabilitation journey.
  • Support patients in achieving improved independence, functional ability, and quality of life.

Clinical Excellence & Documentation

  • Utilize evidence-based physiotherapy techniques and validated outcome measures to monitor treatment effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge reports.
  • Complete clinical records, billing documentation, and reporting requirements according to healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Identify and manage clinical risks while ensuring patient safety throughout all treatment sessions.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other allied healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to rehabilitation service improvements and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Support clinical education, mentoring, and supervision of physiotherapy students or junior staff when required.

Qualifications – Physiotherapist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy / Physical Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy or a recognized specialty qualification will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in hand therapy or relevant specialized physiotherapy practice.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, rehabilitation principles, and evidence-based physiotherapy methods.
  • Experience managing complex patient cases and developing individualized rehabilitation programs.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Valid UAE healthcare professional license or eligibility under one of the following authorities:
    • Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi
    • Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
    • Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP)
  • Completion of required specialty qualifications as per Department of Health (DOH) professional licensing guidelines.
