Physiotherapist Support – Sharjah role is designed to work under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed Physiotherapist, providing essential assistance to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of physiotherapy services. This position plays a vital role in supporting patient care, maintaining treatment areas, and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality standards of the Physiotherapy Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities -Physiotherapist
- Actively uphold, promote, and contribute to the vision, mission, values, and culture of University Hospital – Sharjah (UHS).
- Comply fully with all UHS policies, procedures, safety protocols, and fire regulations at all times.
- Support the hospital’s International Accreditation programs by adhering to required quality, safety, and patient care standards.
- Participate in the commissioning and operational readiness of assigned physiotherapy and clinical areas.
- Prepare and maintain physiotherapy treatment rooms and gym areas before and after each patient session, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
- Set up physiotherapy machines, equipment, and therapeutic materials as instructed by the Physiotherapist.
- Monitor, maintain, and report on the availability and condition of consumable items and physiotherapy equipment.
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility support within the Physiotherapy Department.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with physiotherapists, doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary patient care.
- Participate in the monthly collection, documentation, and reporting of departmental data and statistics.
- Adhere to organizational and departmental policies and contribute to policy reviews and updates when required.
- Work flexible shifts as assigned according to the Physiotherapy Department duty roster.
- Maintain adequate supplies of patient education and information leaflets.
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls, managing appointments, and scheduling patients.
- Fulfil all employment terms and conditions as outlined in the individual employment contract.
Skills and Competencies -Physiotherapist
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and patient management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of physiotherapy modalities, equipment, and patient care practices is an advantage.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow instructions.
- Team-oriented attitude with a positive, supportive, and service-focused mindset.
- Physical capability to assist and support patients safely, including lifting when required.
