Speech Therapist or a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Sharjah to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in post-acute rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation, and managing medically complex cases. Job Responsibilities -Speech Therapist
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments, including evaluation of speech clarity, language comprehension, expressive communication, voice disorders, cognitive-communication skills, and swallowing (dysphagia) function in post-acute and neuro-rehabilitation patients.
- Perform standardized diagnostic testing and clinical bedside swallowing assessments to identify communication deficits and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient-specific goals, diagnosis, and functional rehabilitation needs as Speech Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve articulation, fluency, voice quality, cognitive-linguistic processing, memory, attention, executive functioning, and safe swallowing techniques.
- Deliver dysphagia management programs, including compensatory swallowing strategies, diet modifications, and therapeutic exercises to prevent aspiration and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient progress using standardized outcome measures and functional performance indicators, adjusting therapy plans based on measurable clinical improvements.
- Maintain accurate, detailed clinical documentation in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and facility protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure integrated care, goal alignment, and safe discharge planning.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercise programs, cognitive rehabilitation activities, and safe feeding techniques to support long-term recovery.
- Ensure full compliance with clinical governance standards, infection control protocols, patient safety regulations, and UAE healthcare authority requirements (MOH, DHA, or DOH).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or Communication Disorders from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Valid MOH, DHA, or DOH license (or eligibility) to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the UAE.
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in post-acute rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury (TBI), or medically complex cases.
- Demonstrated experience in managing neurological disorders, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, and cognitive-communication impairments.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based speech therapy techniques, standardized assessment tools, outcome measurement frameworks, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to optimize patient outcomes and enhance functional independence.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient counseling skills.
