MLT – A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi UAE, is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform laboratory testing, quality control, and safety compliance activities in accordance with international standards. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate diagnostic results, maintaining ISO 15189 and EIAC accreditation standards, and complying with OSH and infection control regulations in the UAE healthcare sector.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing in accordance with hospital policies and international quality standards.
  • Ensures accurate, reliable, and timely release of patient diagnostic results.
  • Maintains compliance with ISO 15189, EIAC accreditation requirements, OSH, and infection control standards in the UAE healthcare sector.
  • Implement and follow quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs in all assigned laboratory sub-departments (Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Clinical Pathology, etc.).
  • Participate in Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assessment (EQA) programs.
  • Review and validate QC results before releasing patient reports.
  • Do not report patient results unless QC data are within accepted parameters.
  • Identify out-of-control values and perform corrective actions immediately.
  • Notify Laboratory Supervisor of QC failures, deviations, or significant changes.
  • Maintain proper QC documentation as per ISO 15189 and EIAC standards.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and laboratory performance indicators.

MLT- Medical Lab Tech

  • Operate laboratory instruments and analyzers according to SOPs and manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform routine calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve minor instrumentation problems.
  • Escalate complex technical or procedural issues to the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Identify potential equipment malfunctions and initiate corrective actions.
  • May function as a key analyzer operator with proper training and competency documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance, calibration, and testing activities.

Job Qualifications MLT

  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology – MLT or related clinical laboratory science field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Valid professional license in the country of origin.
  • Licensed to practice in the UAE (HAAD / DOH license for Abu Dhabi or DHA license for Dubai, as applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, quality management systems, ISO standards, and accreditation compliance.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
