Adult Occupational Therapist vacancy for a compassionate, experienced, and DHA-licensed Occupational Therapist to join our growing rehabilitation team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing personalized occupational therapy programs that help adults improve their functional independence, mobility, and overall quality of life.
The Occupational Therapist will work with individuals facing physical disabilities, neurological conditions, sensory impairments, or emotional challenges, providing evidence-based therapy interventions that support daily living activities and long-term rehabilitation goals.
This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other rehabilitation specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care and successful therapy outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients’ physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
- Identify limitations affecting daily living skills, mobility, and functional independence.
- Use standardized occupational therapy assessment tools and clinical evaluations to determine therapy needs.
Treatment Planning and Implementation
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient’s rehabilitation goals.
- Implement evidence-based therapy interventions aimed at improving motor skills, coordination, and daily functioning.
- Provide targeted therapy programs focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), sensory integration, and cognitive rehabilitation.
Adult Rehabilitation and Therapy Support
- Work with adult patients experiencing neurological disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, developmental challenges, or post-surgical rehabilitation needs.
- Support individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, arthritis, or mobility limitations.
- Facilitate programs that promote independent living, workplace adaptation, and functional mobility.
Patient & Caregiver Education
- Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs, adaptive equipment usage, and lifestyle modifications.
- Provide guidance on improving daily routines, self-care skills, and occupational performance.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation, therapy progress notes, and evaluation reports in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Monitor treatment outcomes and update therapy plans based on patient progress.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals.
- Participate in case discussions, treatment planning meetings, and patient care reviews.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all therapy practices comply with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, clinical guidelines, and facility policies.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, professional ethics, and therapy quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter (required to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Dubai).
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy, preferably in adult rehabilitation settings.
- Experience working with neurological, orthopedic, and rehabilitation patients is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Knowledge of modern occupational therapy assessment tools, rehabilitation techniques, and assistive technologies.
